Swimming & Diving Wraps Up Dual Slate at Grove City

GROVE City, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving teams competed in their final dual meets of the season at Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Grove City on Saturday afternoon.
 
The President men were defeated 134-79 while the W&J women fell 130-53.
 
Colin Higinbotham (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) carried the day for the W&J men with two first-place finishes. He bested seven other swimmers in both the 50 yard freestyle (22.13) and the 100 yard butterfly (53.84).
 
Dean Kralic (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside) swam to second in the 100 yard backstroke at 59.06 and finished third in the 500 freestyle (5:24.92).
 
Andrew Ivory (Gibsonia, Pa./Mars) was third in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:11.31.
 
Mark Nikitine (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area) set a season-best time in the 1,000 yard freestyle at 11:27.71.
 
For the W&J women, Sarah Marshall (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) won the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:13.75 and took second in the 100 yard freestyle (58.47).
 
Isabella Manzari (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) finished second in the 50 freestyle (26.96) and was fourth in the 200 free (2:09.52).
 
Kimber Randolph (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) added a third-place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:08.36) and Katelyn McKeirnan (Columbus, N.J./Pennington) was third in the 200 breast (3:04.77).
 
The Presidents return to Grove City next Saturday to compete in the Grove City Invitational.
