WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson College head men's and women's swimming & diving coach
Matt Rochna was recently featured in an article by the Swimming World Magazine.
Rochna, who enters his third year leading the Presidents, was interviewed and quoted in an article titled
"Staying Motivated in the Midst of COVID-19".
The article focuses on the challenges that athletes continue to face during these uncertain times. Rochna notes the importance of making the best of the situation and focusing on both short-term and long-term goals.
Rochna, along with all of the coaches at W&J, have been faced with the task of keeping their teams focused and motivated as they prepare for their next opportunity to compete.
In the published article written by Riley Dunn, Rochna states "Any little thing that any coach can think of that might motivate their athletes is absolutely worth any time devoted as it is the key to achieving goals in the pool and in life," said Rochna, who encourages coaches to become creative when dealing with the challenges of the 2020-21 swim season."
