WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College Office of Alumni Engagement & Annual Giving recently added crowdfunding projects to benefit the football and softball programs.
PrezProjects serves as W&J's own crowdfunding platform that empowers our faculty, staff, and students to approach fundraising projects through personal and direct grassroots efforts. These projects benefit the possibilities to help turn dreams into reality for current and future Presidents.
Football
The ongoing project to benefit the W&J football team would allow for the purchase of Atavus Concussion Prevention Software. The goal for the project is $9,000.
The impact you can make:
This software provides 'data-driven drill recommendations to address main issues and maximize player engagement,' by providing the tools to measure and coach a dominant tackle and educating players on implementing strategies safely. With the additional help from Atavus, staff will break down the teams practice and game film to provide data points on every tackle. Their experts leverage analytics from a database of 70,000 tackles to provide advice to coaches and student-athletes on how to reduce head contact and missed tackles.
With use of this software, Presidents football is looking to increase player safety, improve performance, and gain a competitive edge on defense for a sport that typically provides only offensive analytics.
Make a gift to support the W&J Football team in purchasing prevention software, to increase player safety, and reduce head contact and missed tackles. Your support will make W&J the first and only college in Pennsylvania to have this software, keeping us at the forefront of student-athlete safety across all divisions.

Softball
The ongoing project would help improve Brooks Park, the home of W&J Softball, by making a gift to purchase new stadium seating with safety fencing from BSN Sports. The goal for the project is $5,500.
How can you make an impact?
In recent years, Brooks Park, home to W&J Softball, has received some much-needed improvements to include new outfield fencing, windscreens, signage, an infield tarp, and fencing in the dugouts. By donating to this PrezProject, you're helping us complete the project with new stadium seating with safety fencing to help keep the W&J community and families safe while cheering on our student-athletes during games.
Presidents Athletics remains eager to safely compete and have you there cheering them on. Now, more than ever, we need your support of our student-athletes as we remind them the W&J family is filled with their #1 fans! Join alumni, parents, and friends cheer on our team to success.
