CLEARWATER, Fla. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's lacrosse team scored early and often in a decisive 19-3 victory over Hiram College in the Spring Break trip finale Tuesday morning in Clearwater.

Four different Presidents recorded four goals each as the Red and Black tallied a season-high 19 goals while holding the Terriers to just three goals, which was a season-low by a W&J opponent.

Sofiya Bobrovnikova (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast), Becca Ghion (Sutersville, Pa./Yough), Clara Sherwood (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) and Alexis Miller (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) finished with four goals apiece in the victory.

The Presidents dominated the game from the outset, as the Red and Black recorded the first five goals before eventually taking an 8-1 lead on a goal by Ghion at the 15:04 mark.

Miller registered back-to-back goals later in the first half to extend the lead to 11-2 at the break. After the Terriers initial goal of the second half, the Presidents countered back with the final eight goals of the match.

Bobrovnikova tallied three goals in the second half while Sherwood and Ghion each had two scores after halftime. Star Rosnick (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) also tallied a goal over the final 30 minutes of play.

W&J secured a 20-2 advantage in draw controls and out-shot the Terriers by a 31-9 margin.

Bobrovnikova put together an all-around strong game, as the junior filled the stat sheet with four goals, a career-high 12 draw controls, four caused turnovers and four ground balls.

Sherwood finished with four foals, four draw controls, four caused turnovers and three ground balls. Sarah Labovitz recorded a four-point (two goals, two assists) effort to go along with four ground balls and three draw controls.
