WASHINGTON, Pa. --
Sam Bellini (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) recorded a pair of victories as the Washington & Jefferson College men's tennis team suffered a 6-3 loss to visiting Saint Vincent College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match Monday at the Janet Swanson Tennis Center.
Bellini defeated Mauricio Sanchez by a 7-5 and 6-3 score at the number two singles spot.
James Gunn (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside) was victorious at the No. 3 singles spot, as the junior notched a 6-3, 6-2 victory over SVC's Sam Butler.
Earlier in the match, Bellini teamed with
Nolan Rehrig to register an 8-3 decision at No. 3 doubles.
The Presidents return to competition on Thursday, April 22 with a road match at Grove City. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
