WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson men's tennis team fell by a 9-0 score to visiting Westminster College Saturday in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match at the Janet Swanson Tennis Center.
Westminster coasted to wins in all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 advantage.
Samuel Vessah (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) took his match to a third set tiebreaker before falling to Logan Mannheimer at fourth singles. Mannheimer took the opening set by a 6-2 score before Vessah claimed a 6-4 victory in the second set. Mannheimer prevailed by a 10-4 margin in the third set tiebreaker to take the match.
James Gunn (Beaver Falls, Pa. / Riverside) and
William Gunn (Beaver Falls, Pa. / Riverside) were competive in their respective singles matches at the second and third spots but fell in straight sets.
W&J travels to Waynesburg for a conference match on Saturday, April 9. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
