Men's Tennis concludes 2022 Season

Box Score WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College men's tennis team saw their 2022 season come to an end as they lost their match to qualify for the Presidents' Athletic Conference Tournament Sunday afternoon. Waynesburg bested the Presidents by a 7-2 score. 

Joseph Panahandeh (Murrysville, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) and Nolan Rehrig (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) picked up the two lone wins for the Presidents at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Panahanden had to fight his way through for the number five singles win as he lost the first set by a 6-0 decision before besting Saliba by a 6-4 and 10-8 to claim the victory. Rehrig recorded 6-3, 6-3 victories to win in straight sets at number six singles.

The brother duo of James Gunn (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside) and William Gunn (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside) posted a strong effort at No. 1 doubles falling by a 8-4 decision. Panahandeh and Rehrig also fell by a 8-4 decision at No. 3 doubles.
