MORGANTOWN, W.VA. -- The Washington & Jefferson College Track & Field team competed at day one of the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships Thursday afternoon at Mylan Park.
Day one included the prelims of the women 100 hurdles and men 110 hurdles, the 100 dash (men and women), and the 10000 (men and women) for the running events. The field events included the discus throw, triple jump, and pole vault.Â
Women
Anna Stroup (Port Royal, Pa./Juniata) won her heat in the 100-hurdles with a time of 16.48 seconds. She enters tomorrow's final as the number two seed. Additionally, Stroup finished fourth in the 100-meter dash recording a 12.89. Her time in the 100 Dash was a new personal best and eighth best time in program history.Â
Savannah Sevacko (Crafton, Pa./Carlynton) recorded a runner-up finish for the Presidents in the Triple Jump with her leap of 10.69 meters. That mark ties Kelli Gee's school record mark in the event.
Jadyn Hartner (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry) qualified in the 100 hurdles with her time of 16.83 seconds. She enters the finals as the fifth seed. Additionally, Hartner finished eighth in the triple jump with her leap of 9.91 meters.Â
Kiersten Walther (Washington, Pa./Trinity) heaved a season-best 29.32 mark in the discus throw to finish 10th.Â
Men
Ian Baughman (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) qualified for the finals of the 110-hurdles with his time of 15.90 seconds. He enters Friday's finals as the second seed.Â
Three Presidents scored in the 10K.
Brock Pennington (North East, Pa./North East) led W&J with a third place finish (33.23.05).
Jake Sinclair (Beallsville, Pa./Beth-Center) placed fourth with a 33:28.44 while
Paul Collier (Heath, Ohio/Heath) landed in seventh recording a personal-best time of 34.20.92. Pennington and Sinclair enter W&J's all-time top 10 in the event.
Nate Sciarro (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside) finished 10th in the triple jump with his leap of 12.46 meters.Â
W&J returns to Mylan Park for day two of the PAC Championships. Day two is slated to start at 2 p.m.
Day two running events will include steeplechase, 4x100 relays, 1500, women 100 hurdles finals, men 110 hurdles finals, 400 dash, 100 dash, 800, 400 hurdles, 200 dash, 5000, 4x400 relays. The field events will include high jump, shot put, long jump, and the javelin throw.Â
