UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson College women's soccer team traveled to John Carroll on Saturday afternoon and played through 90 even minutes to earn its second time in as many matches in 2022. Neither the Presidents or Blue Streaks were able to to find the back of the net in Saturday's contest. 

The Presidents had little offensive production in the first half only breaking down the Blue Streaks defense for one shot as their opponent managed eight shots. The Presidents held a 3-1 edge in the corner kicks though in the first half but were unable to register a shot on those chances. W&J was a little more productive in the second half, as they managed four shots over the final 45 minutes. 

Sarah Schneider (Warren, Ohio / Lordstown) and Makenna Mann (Herndon, Va. / South Lakes) recorded a shot each on goal. Abby Hipkins (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) got the start and made five saves. Gabriella Lloyd (Butler, Pa./Butler) played the second half and made four saves to preserve the shutout. 

Both the Presidents and Blue Streaks move to 0-0-2 after Saturday's match. John Carroll played to a 2-2 on Thursday against PAC foe Westminster College. 
 
The Presidents travel to Penn State Altoona on Wednesday Sept. 7 with a scheduled kickoff of 6:30 p.m.
