DELAWARE, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College women's field hockey team dropped a 5-0 decision to undefeated Ohio Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon in North Coast Athletic Conference play.
Ohio Wesleyan dominated the first half, with the Presidents unable to get a shot off, while they were able to collect nine shots, four penalty corners. 
Both teams would remain scoreless throughout the first quarter. Ohio Wesleyan would find their first goal in the 21st minute of play. The Battling Bishops would score just 1:48 into the third quarter and tacked on another score late in the third to take a 3-0 lead into the fourth. 
The Battling Bishops scored twice in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring.
W&J's first shot, which came from Hailey Wachowiak (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny), happened in the third quarter. W&J had four more shots in the fourth quarter, two of them coming once again from Wachowiak as well as two from Lindsey Blount (Lockport, N.Y. / Starpoint) to give the Presidents a total of five shots throughout the contest. 
Anastasia Godat (Baltimore Md. / Concordia Preparatory School) collected nine saves in her 60 minutes in goal for W&J.   
The loss drops the Presidents to a 5-8 overall record and 4-5 in NCAC play. The Battling Bishops improved to 13-0 overall and 7-0 in NCAC play.  
W&J hosts Houghton in their "Think Pink Game" on Saturday, October 21st. The match is slated for a 12 p.m. start at Cameron Stadium.
