LATROBE, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College men's lacrosse team dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference match by a 28-3 score to host Saint Vincent College Saturday afternoon at UPMC Field in Westmoreland County.
The Presidents are now 1-1 in conference play and 4-6 overall. The Bearcats improve to 1-1 in league games and 8-2 overall this season.
Saint Vincent was in control of the game from the outset. The Bearcats led 8-0 after the first and 15-1 at halftime. Saint Vincent then outscored W&J by a 13-2 tally over the final two quarters.
Parker Lucas (Delmar, Del./Delmar),
Zach Mey (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) and
Aiden Herman (West End, N.C./Pinecrest) scored a goal each for the Presidents.
Carter Watts (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) registered a pair of assists.
Defensively,
Nathan Petrarco (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) recorded team highs in ground balls (5) and caused turnovers (3).
Noah Bracco (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) started in goal and suffered the loss. He made five saves in the first half.
Henry Beardwood (Wilmington, Del. / Salesianum School) played the third quarter and stopped seven shots.
Riley Bullock (Kennett Square, Pa. / Wilmington Christian (Del.)) made seven saves during his time in goal in the fourth quarter.
Saint Vincent used a decided advantage in face-off wins (27-7) to control the ball and play.
W&J returns to action on Friday, April 7 when they host Thiel College at 7 p.m.
