WASHINGTON Pa. – The Washington and Jefferson College women's tennis team downed host California University of Pennsylvania by a 4-3 score on the road in a non-conference match Sunday afternoon in the season opener.

Nidhi Pulicherla (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) and
Riley Moore (Logan, W.Va. Logan) shut out Diletta Maris Mungo and Leandra Guldimann by 6-0 score at No. 1 doubles. The tandem of
Pooja Potluri (West Fargo, N.D. / West Fargo) and
Eden Ma (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) battled for a 6-4 victory against Kylie Feltenberger and Anna Oblock in No. 3 doubles to take the point in the best of three doubles against Division II California University.

Moore breezed to a 6-1 and 6-1 victory at No. 4Â singles.Â
Ma battled to a third-set tiebreaker victory in No. 5 singles before
Lisha Chadda (Grand Rapids, Mich. Forest Hills Eastern) recorded a 6-1 and 6-1 in the No. 6 singles with ease to secure the 3-3 tie in singles and 4-3 overall win.
