GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson swimming & diving program closed off their final Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup this Saturday afternoon as they took on Grove City on the road.
Both of the Grove City teams prevailed this afternoon. The women by a 148-59 score and men's team by a margin of 130-63.
Aidan Miller (Grove City, Ohio / St. Charles Prep) finished second in the 1650 Freestyle (18:31.11) event.
Cody North (Evergreen, Colo. / Clear Creek) finished with a time of 2:14.65 to claim second place in the 200 Yard Freestyle.
Daniel Jeffries (Irwin, Pa. / Hempfield Area) finished second in the 100 Yard Backstroke (57.12) as well as in the 500 Yard Freestyle (5:25.63).
Logan Marks (West Mifflin, Pa. / West Mifflin) claimed second in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (58.78) and 50 Yard Free events. Marks also finished second in the 200 Yard IM event and recorded a 2:08.41 time.
Aiden Marks (West Mifflin, Pa. / West Mifflin) took third in the 50 Yard Freestyle event and second in the 100 Yard Freestyle.
Nathaniel Harden (Greensburg, Pa. / Hempfield Area) logged a time of 2:38.05 to place second in the 200 Yard Breaststroke.
The W&J men were second in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. Killen,
Aiden Marks,
Logan Marks, and Jeffries raced to a time of 1:35.16 in the event.
Audrey Kough (Fayetteville, Pa. / Chambersburg) finished second in the 1650 Yard Freestyle (22:53.66) event.
Taylor Newton (Olyphant, Pa. / Scranton Prep) placed second in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:11.73). Newton also took third in the 100 Yard Freestyle (1:02.71). Newton also took second in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:52.53.
Maddie Malone (Charlottesville, Va. / Monticello) collected a second-place finish in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:20.91).
Sophie Garrett (Cincinnati, Ohio / Saint Ursula Academy) placed second in the 50 Yard Freestyle (26.81) and
Luna Balzano (El Portal, Fla. / Broward Virtual School) followed up with a time of 28.02. Garrett also finished in the same breath as Emma Plank (1:19.38) from Grove City narrowly missing first place in the 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 2:19.37.
Balzano also took second in the 100 Yard Butterfly (1:08.38).
Amanda Graves (Irwin, Pa. / Penn Trafford) logged a time of 1:00.74 to place second in the 100 Yard Freestyle.
The W&J women were second in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. Balzano, Newton, Graves and Garrett raced to a time of 1:49.39 in the event.
Swimming & Diving will be back in action Saturday, Jan. 27 when they host Pitt-Bradford for Senior Day. The meet will start at 1 p.m.
