Box Score WASHINGTON Pa. – The Washington and Jefferson College women's tennis team recorded a hard-fought showing in a 6-1 loss to Grove City.
The Presidents move to 5-4 on the season and 3-3 in conference play, still holding an above .500 3-2 record at home.

Jaelyn Kennedy (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) managed to fend off the Wolverines at No. 2 doubles with a 6-1 win.
W&J managed to pick up one two-set victory in the matchup at No. 1 singles.
Nidhi Pulicherla (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) logged a 6-2, 6-3 win for the Presidents. At No. 2 singles,
Claire Loomis (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) fought to a third set after splitting 6-3, 4-6 in the first two sets but would ultimately fall in the third, 6-1. Kennedy also took her No. 3 singles match to a tie-breaking set, but was overcome by the opposing Grove City player, 7-5. At No. 5 singles,
Paisley Cole (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna High School) managed a tightly contested bout ending in a back-and-forth loss 8-6, 3-6, 6-8.
The Presidents remain at home to face Division II West Liberty in the team's last nonconference matchup of the season on Friday (Oct. 4). First serve is set for 4:00 p.m.
