WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson women's soccer team suffered a 7-0 shutout loss to the visiting Grove City Wolverines in Presidents' Athletic Conference action.

The Wolverines (11-3-2 overall, 8-0-1 in conference play) outshot the Presidents an astounding 35-8 (17-7 on goal). Senior Sydney Hoover (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) led the offensive accounting for 3-of-3 shots on goal.

The Presidents (5-10-2 overall, 2-6-1 in conference play) trailed 4-0 heading into the half after four different Wolverines found the back of the net in the 20th, 32nd, 36th and 39th minutes.

Two goals from Grove City's Britta Lagerquist in the 49th and 56th minute put the Wolverines ahead, 6-0, before finding their final tally in the 68th minute of play.

Grove City held the advantage in corner kicks 8-5.

Molly Schoch (Burgettstown, Pa./Burgettstown) suffered the loss and gloved nine saves in net for W&J in her full 90-minute effort.

The Presidents return to the pitch next against Westminster in their final regular season matchup. Kickoff is slated for 6:00 p.m.
