MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Washington and Jefferson College men's tennis team dropped their Sunday matchup with the Allegheny Gators, 7-0.
W&J dropped all three doubles matches, allowing the first team point of the bout end up in the Gators hands.
Jackson Akers (Logan, W. Va./Logan) and
Alex Duing (South Park, Pa./South Park) posted the most competitive of the matches at No. 1 doubles, dropping a 6-3 decision.
The Presidents went winless in the singles bouts, not able to win an individual set.
Abhinav Yarramaneni (Mountain View, Calif./Los Altos) and
Connor Simms (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon McMillan) both dropped 6-1, 6-1 matches at No3 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
Nate Clarke (New Kensington, Pa./Valley) snagged two games in the first set at No. 6 singles, but would ultimately fall 6-2, 6-0.
The Presidents remain on the road on Friday (Oct. 11) to face Franciscan. The match has a scheduled start time of 4:00 p.m.
