NEW CASTLE, Pa. –
Claire Anderson (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) and
Dominic Flitcraft (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) both recorded top three finishes at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships this afternoon.
Anderson, former 2023 PAC Champion, finished as the runner-up this season in second at the PAC Championships. The junior standout was bested by a Grove City runner by just over four seconds. Anderson finished with a time of 21:58.70 and 5:54 pace on the course. With her performance, she earned All-PAC First Team honors for the second-straight season.
Maria Gilles (North Ridgeville, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) finished just outside of the top ten in 11
th with a time of 23:27.60. Gilles picked up her first career All-PAC Second team honor with her 11
th place finish.
Chloe LoCastro (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) finished next up for the Presidents in 38
th place with a time of 25:26.40.
Genevieve Ruth (Brecksville, Ohio/Brecksville Broadview Heights) finished quickly behind her with a 41st-place finish with a time of 25:36.00. Rounding out the Presidents' top five runners was
Grace Reid-Vensel (Washington, Pa./Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter) who placed 45
th with a time of 25:49.70.
For the men, Flitcraft headed the Presidents' front with a third-place finish on the afternoon. The former PAC Newcomer of the year dropped just one spot compared to his freshman season finish as the runner-up. Flitcraft finished with a time of 25:54.60, earning his second-consecutive All-PAC First Team honor.
Following close behind were senior
Brock Pennington (North East, Pa./North East) and
Julian Paul (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) who finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Pennington paced his way to a 26:00.60 mark trailed by Paul who posted a time of 26:10.70 directly behind his teammates. Pennington replicated his 2023 performance with a fourth-place finish to earn All-PAC First Team rights. Paul logged his first collegiate All-PAC First Team honor with his top five finish this afternoon.
Finishing close together,
Shaun Walker (Washington, Pa./Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter) and
Daniel Deal (Butler, Pa./Knoch) placed back-to-back to cap off the Presidents' top five runners. Walker finished with a mark of 27:51.30 and 32
nd finish, while Deal worked his way to a 33
rd-place finish with a time of 27:53.80.
John Ridilla (Pittsburgh, Pa./Bishop Canevin) and
Chloe LoCastro both represented W&J on the PAC Cross Country Sportsmanship Teams.
The Presidents now look to the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional in Lock Haven, Pa. on Saturday (Nov. 16).
