WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College's women's tennis team fell to visiting California University of Pennsylvania by a 9-0 score this Sunday in a rematch at the Janet Swanson Tennis Center.
The Presidents put forth a valiant effort in doubles play. However, the Presidents fell by respective scores of 8-5, 8-3, 8-2.
Nidhi Pulicherla (Chandler, Ariz. / Hamilton) put up a fight at first singles. Pulicherla took the second set by a 6-3 margin after dropping the opening set.
Pulicherla took Mungo all the way to a third set tiebreaker before falling by a 10-4 margin.
Sophomore
Eden Ma (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Upper St. Clair) battled in the second set but fell 6-2 and 7-5 to Bega Gotor at fourth singles.
This marks the end of the spring for the Red & Black. W&J will return to action in the 2024-25 fall season.
