WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College women's tennis team logged their first loss of the 2024 season against Division II Davis & Elkins, 7-0.

During the doubles matches, the Presidents were shutout in their No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches in straight sets, 6-0. Jaelyn Kennedy (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) and Emma Humphrey (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) managed to snag a game at No. 3 doubles but ultimately lost their match, 6-1.

In singles, W&J was swept in all matches with minimal push back. The Presidents most competitive match was at No. 2 singles as sophomore Claire Loomis (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) took two games in her loss 6-2, 6-0. Mackenzie Gumto (Renfrew, Pa./Knoch High School) recorded a productive showing at No. 6 singles after being downed 6-1, 6-1.
