Nate Morgret Named First W&J Strength and Conditioning Coach

Washington & Jefferson College athletics has announced the addition of Nate Morgret as the department's first ever Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Morgret comes to W&J after spending a year at Division II Seton Hill where he spent time as their Women's Lacrosse Strength Coach. Morgret assisted the teams' athletes with daily exercises and activities. He also planned, designed and ran each semesters programming for athletic and sports performance.

"I'm very excited to be here at Washington & Jefferson College!" stated Morgret. "I want to thank Scott McGuinness and all the coaches that I had a chance to meet with. I am very excited to hit the ground running with our athletes and make sure they all get the time and attention they deserve."

Prior to his time at Seton Hill, Morgret worked with D1 Training as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. There he developed programs for athletes as a D1 Coach, including helping clients through a plethora of programs. Some of the programs he created, targeted specialized sport specific skills for athletes of all backgrounds and ages.

"We are very excited to welcome Nate to our athletic department as our first-ever Strength & Conditioning Coach," stated director of athletics Scott McGuinness. "Nate is a driven professional who we feel is going to make an immediate impact for all 26 of our varsity programs.  We have a unique, athletic strength facility and now we believe we have the right professional who can help our student-athletes maximize their sports performance."

Morgret additionally worked for the Allegheny Health Network at the Cools Springs Sports Performance Facility as a Strength Coach Intern. Morgret wore a multitude of hats in this role including in assisting in recording daily logs of patient activities, preparation of treatments and recording all client's data.

Morgret earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration/entrepreneurship in May of 2024. In March of this year, he also worked his way to becoming a certified exercise physiologist under the American College of Sports Medicine. Morgret is scheduled to complete his second bachelors degree with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science this December.
