Swimming & Diving Splits Against Westminster

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving teams split in Presidents' Athletic Conference action against the Westminster Titans. The W&J men took a 159-94 victory while the women dropped a 181-82 decision.
 
March Yuan (Simi Valley, Calif./Oak Park), Micah Lohr (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) and Zach Lloyd (Dillsburg, Pa./Lloyd Academy (Homeschooled)) each had two first place finished on the afternoon.
 
Yuan finished as the top swimmer in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:19.25. He also raced to a first-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:37.69. Lohr finished with first place marks in the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly with respective times of 57.25 and 2:19.07. Lloyd led all divers first place finishes in the 1-meter and 3-meter dive with top scores of 260.18 and 205.73.
 
Daniel Jeffries (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield Area) took a first-place mark in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.59. He also placed second in the 500-yard freestyle with a mark of 5:29.66.
 
Captain Nathaniel Harden (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.96. Harden placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:37.97.
 
Freshman Corbin Likar (Amity, Pa./Trinity) had a balanced day in the lanes with a first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle racing to a time of 51.92. He finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a mark of 23.40.
 
The relay unit of Ethan Glessner (McKeesport, Pa./Elizabeth Forward), Harden, Lohr and Jeffries took first in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:41.04.
 
The quad of Yuan, Likar, Glessner and Jeffries finished first in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:24.09.
 
Mackenzie Caron (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) had a dominant day to lead the W&J women's swimmers. Caron took top finishes in the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle with respective times of 2:03.56 and 5:29.35. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Caron raced to a top finish with a time of 1:12.22.
 
Amiyah White (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) led all divers in the 1-meter dive with a score of 153.53.
 
Maddie Malone (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) took a first-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a mark of 2:51.04. Malone also took a second-place mark in the 400-yard IM racing to a time of 5:27.43.
 
Riley Gutierrez (Deer Park, Texas/Deer Park) finished second in the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly with respective times of 1:11.84 and 2:44.22.
 
The relay unit of Andrea DeLong (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan), Gutierrez, Caron and Malone took a second-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:26.09.
 
The W&J swimming & diving teams return to the pool in dual against Ashland on Saturday (Nov. 8). The meet is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
