TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Following another strong individual week, Washington & Jefferson College junior forward
Nathan Plotner (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg South) earned recognition as Presidents' Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Plotner finished the week shooting 73.5% from the field (25-for-34) while averaging 25.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 steals and 4.5 blocks per game, as the Presidents marched to a 2-0 week. The forward opened the week with 18 points, seven rebounds, six blocks and six steals in a victory Monday at Capital. Against La Roche, Plotner posted a career-high 33 points with an additional four rebounds, four steals and three blocks in a 99-77 victory over the Redhawks. Plotner played a key role in W&J extended its winning streak to six-straight games.
The junior currently ranks fourth in all NCAA Divisions (I, II, III) in blocks with 41 on the season and fifth in blocks per game (3.73).
W&J, who holds a 9-2 overall record, travels to Bethany College for a conference game on Wednesday, Jan. 7. The scheduled start time is set for 7:30 p.m.
