WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving teams dropped both its Presidents' Athletic Conference meets with the visiting Saint Vincent Bearcats. The men fell 178-113 while the women dropped a 188-79 decision.
Mackenzie Caron (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and
Daniel Jeffries (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield Area) led the way for both the men's and women's teams with two individual victories each.
Caron took first place marks in the 100- and the 200-yard breaststroke with respective times of 1:20.43 and 2:54.92. Jeffries raced his way to first place finishes in the 100- and the 200-yard freestyle with respective times of 50.64 and 1:51.76.
Maddie Malone (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) also logged a productive day between the lanes. Malone edged her way to a first-place finish in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:30.58. She also place second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:15.44).
Sophomore diver
Amiyah White (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) posted a impressive weekend on the boards. During the W&J Diving Invitational, White took second with a total score of 309.90 in the 1-meter dive. She finished the Friday afternoon invite within 60 points from a diver from Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Against the Bearcats, White finished first with a total score of 183.38 in the 1-meter dive.
Sophomore
Zach Lloyd (Dillsburg, Pa./Lloyd Academy (Homeschooled)) wrapped the weekend with a first-place finish and two second-place marks. At the W&J Diving Invitational, Lloyd finished second in the 1- and 3-meter dives with respective scores of 431.85 and 452.55. Against the Bearcats, Lloyd placed first with a total score of 329.10.
The relay unit of
Ethan Glessner (McKeesport, Pa./Elizabeth Forward),
Nathaniel Harden (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area),
Micah Lohr (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) and
Aiden Marks (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) placed second in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:39.54.
The team of Jeffries,
Corbin Likar (Amity, Pa./Trinity), Marks and
Brian Lowry (Wenonah, N.J./Gloucester County Institute of Technology) also coasted to a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:28.13.
March Yuan (Simi Valley, Calif./Oak Park) picked up three second place finishes on the day against the Bearcats. Yuan kicked off the day racing to a time of 10:39.45 in the 1,000-yard freestyle. The sophomore then placed second in the 200-yard butterfly and the 500-yard freestyle with respective times of 2:08.55 and 5:09.87.
Glessner wrapped the Presidents top performers from the weekend, racing to two second place finishes. Glessner took second in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke with respective times of 56.74 and 2:09.70. Glessner also placed fourth in the 200-yard IM with a mark of 2:14.33.
Following the holiday break, the Presidents will continue its conference slate with a home meet against the Franciscan Barons on Saturday (Jan. 10). The first meet of 2026 for W&J is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
