MARIETTA, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College women's golf team closed out the final day of the Pioneer Classic hosted by Marietta College. The W&J women remained in third place after the final 18 holes with a total team score of 669.

Top W&J Individual: Megan Joyce (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) closed out the Pioneer Classic as the third golfer. Joyce posted a second-round score of 79 (+7) to match her 81 (+9) from the first 18 holes. The junior wrapped the weekend with a 160 (+16), seven strokes from the individual medalist.
Notables: The next best finisher for W&J remained
Julia Barthelemy (Crescent, Pa./Moon Area). Barthelemy finished day two in eighth place with an 81 (+9) to wrap the weekend with a 167 (+23).
MacKenzie Schmeltz (Edwardsburg, Mich./Saint Joseph) moved up to the Presidents' third best golfer after posting a weekend score of 168 (+24) to finish directly behind Barthelemy in ninth. Senior
Dinah Bailey (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) finished tied for 13
th with a weekend score of 174 (+30).
Lauren Tekely (Glendale, W.Va./John Marshall) concluded W&J's five golfers with a weekend score of 188 (+44) to finish 21
st.
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: Dension remained the top team in the Pioneer Classic with a total team score of 646. The next best team, Otterbein and W&J, finished the weekend 20 strokes or more behind.
Top Individual: Alayna Meyer of Otterbein held the top spot to earn the Pioneer Classic Individual Medal as the top golfer over 36 holes. Meyer shot a 153 (+9) between two days of action. Anna Klass of Dension finished close behind, with a weekend score of 155 (+11).
Up Next: The Presidents return to the course Saturday (March 29) at the Pennsylvania Classic hosted by Penn State University. The first round of golf is set for an 11:00 a.m. start.
