WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Presidents opened their 2025 season in an afternoon clash against Lycoming (1-0) at Cameron Stadium on Friday afternoon, dropping a 3-1 contest.
The Presidents got of to a quick start on the offensive end as Lindsey Blount (Lockport, N.Y./Starpoint) scored off the penalty corner taken by Bailey Miller (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) five minutes into the contest. W&J took a one goal lead into the second quarter, until the Warriors found their offensive stride, equalizing the score five minutes into the quarter. The tied deadlock remained going into the half.
The Warriors offensively picked up right where they left off, scoring a second goal off of a deflection. The 12 penalty corners for Lycoming aided in the their third score the game off of a scrum in front of the cage.
Defensively, Grace Erhard (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) made 11 saves off of 14 shots on goal in a full 60 minutes of work.
The Presidents look to rebound on Wednesday (Sept. 3) at Historic Cameron Stadium against Juniata.
