WOOSTER, Ohio – The Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving programs were swept by nonconference opponent Wooster in both team's final nonconference dual meet of the season. The men lost 201-75 while the women fell 210-55.
Leading the W&J men on the afternoon was sophomore diver
Zach Lloyd (Dillsburg, Pa./Lloyd Academy (Homeschooled)). Lloyd took the sole first-place finish for the men's team in the 1-meter dive, scoring 462.00 points.
March Yuan (Simi Valley, Calif./Oak Park) posted a strong day with three second-place finishes. The sophomore finished third in the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.73), 500-yard freestyle (5:07.30) and 1,000-yard freestyle (10:30.27).
Ethan Glessner (McKeesport, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) remained one of the Presidents' top swimmers this week. Glessner placed second in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke with respective times of 1:01.12 and 2:20.96. He also swam to a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:09.28.

Nathaniel Harden (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area),
Micah Lohr (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) and
Daniel Jeffries (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield Area) raced to a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:36.54.
The 400-yard medley relay team consisting of Jeffries,
Brian Lowry (Wenonah, N.J./Gloucester County Institute of Technology),
Corbin Likar (Amity, Pa./Trinity) and
Aiden Marks (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) finished second with a mark of 3:19.69.
Heading the W&J women was freshman
Mackenzie Caron (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) who earned one of the women's first place victories. Caron won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:19.10. She also swam to a third-place finish in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:20.64.
Amiyah White (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) also picked up a win for W&J in the 1-meter dive with a total score of 266.95.
Junior captain
Maddie Malone (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) finished third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:45.65. Fellow junior
Sophia Garrett (Cincinnati, Ohio/Saint Ursula Academy) also picked up a third-place finish, occurring in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 28.06. Garrett additionally finished fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.48.
The relay unit of Garrett, Malone,
Riley Gutierrez (Deer Park, Texas/Deer Park) and Caron finished second in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:00.40.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team consisting of Garrett, Gutierrez, Malone and Caron finished third with a time of 4:08.25.
The W&J diving teams return to action on Friday (Jan. 30) for the annual Dave Horvat Diving Invite held at Division II Clarion. The diving invite has a scheduled start time of 5:00 p.m.
