TRAFFORD, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College senior
Claire Loomis (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) has been chosen as the Presidents Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday (Oct. 5).
Loomis went undefeated in two dual matches last week, as the Presidents improved to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the PAC. At No. 2 singles, she earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Waynesburg and a 6-0, 6-0 win against Franciscan. In doubles play, Loomis secured a 6-1 set at No. 1 against the Yellow Jackets alongside partner
Keiran Moorhead (Canonsburg, Pa./Peters Township), and the tandem secured a second 6-1 set at No. 1 against the Barons.
The Presidents return to action to finish a postponed match with the Allegheny Gators on Tuesday (Oct. 6). The match is scheduled to resume at 5:00 p.m. at the Janet Swanson Tennis Center.
