TRAFFORD, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College men's basketball (22-6, 12-4) picked up one major award and two all-conference selections on the 2025-26 All-Presidents' Athletic Conference list.
The all-conference teams, as well as the PAC's yearly award winners, are determined by vote of the league's 12 head coaches.
Junior
Nathan Plotner (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg South) repeated as the PAC Defensive Player of the Year following his 2025-26 campaign. Plotner and teammate
Alex Acosta (Acworth, Ga./North Cobb) each additionally earned slots on the All-PAC Second Team.
After becoming the first President in program history to be named PAC Defensive Player of the Year a season ago, Plotner worked his way to more hardware as the conference's repeat DPOTY. The junior forward led the conference in blocks with 73, averaging 2.6 blocks per game. He is tied for the sixth-most blocks in all of Division III and is tied for 20
th in all NCAA Divisions (I, II, III) in blocks. Plotner is also ranked fourth in the conference in steals with 60, averaging 2.1 steals per game. The junior is currently averaging 14.3 points per game along with a 61.1% (162-for-265) shooting percentage from the field this season. He has compiled three double doubles so far this season as well as six games of five or more blocks in a single contest.
En route to the Presidents' 11
th conference championship, Plotner averaged 14.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and 1.3 steals per game in the tournament. He shot 74.1% (20-for-27) from the field through all three games of the conference tournament. In the championship game, Plotner scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had four blocks. The Presidents' stout post player earned PAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player and a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
Acosta collects his second All-PAC honor in his career, his first coming during his sophomore season. The W&J forward currently averages 11.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game with a 57.0% (122-214) shooting percentage from the field. Acosta also compiled 32 steals, 22 blocks and 20 assists so far on the season. In the regular season victory over the Westminster Titans, Acosta became the 28th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark after scoring on a layup at the 17:58 mark of the first quarter. The senior finished the contest as W&J's leading scorer with 19 points, shooting 7-of-9 from the field (77.8 percent) and 5-of-7 from the free-throw line (71.4 percent). Acosta also posted four double-double performances on the season thus far.
Through the course of the PAC Tournament, Acosta averaged 11.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game with a 52.6% (10-19) mark from the field. His most impactful game came against Franciscan as the senior forward scored 12 points and hauled in 10 rebounds for a double-double performance.
Senior guard
Josh Chambers (Hanover, Md./Indian Creek) represents W&J on the PAC Sportsmanship Team.
The Presidents concluded the regular season with a 19-6 overall record, and a 12-4 mark in conference play to earn the No. 1 seed in the PAC South Division entering the tournament. W&J eventually climbed their way to the program's 11
th PAC Championship by defeating Geneva (85-59), Franciscan (75-65) and Westminster (68-61) in succession. W&J currently holds a 22-6 record on the season entering the NCAA Tournament.
The Presidents are scheduled to play the Mount Union Purple Raiders at host Christopher Newport University for the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday (March 6). Tipoff is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.
