NORTON, Mass. – The Washington & Jefferson College women's water polo team (9-9, 5-3) concludes their 2026 season with a 14-8 defeat to the Austin Kangaroos (10-9, 4-4) on the final day of the Collegiate Water Polo Association Championships.
Sophomore led the Presidents on offense with a three-goal performance. Classmate
Autumn Woollcott (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc) and freshman
Mackenzie Caron (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) both scored two.
The Roos got a slight advantage early with a four-goal opening period. Caron and classmate
Riley Gutierrez (Deer Park, Texas/Deer Park) each scored in the opening period. Woollcott opened her tally as well to make the score 4-3 after the opening eight minutes.
Austin opened up the contest after the second period, outscoring W&J 4-2 to take an 8-5 lead.
Emmie Ratcliff (Friendswood, Texas/Friendswood) opened her tally, and Caron added her second on the afternoon.
The Roos continued to extend their lead throughout the second half. W&J's lone goal of the third period came from E. Ratcliff. Woollcott and E. Ratcliff each tallied a goal in the fourth to round out the W&J scoring, but ultimately the Roos took the 14-8 win to close out the season.

Lani Weaver (Conroe, Texas/Conroe) made five saves throughout the contest.
The Women's Water Polo team concludes the 2026 campaign with four players receiving CWPA All-Conference status, including E. Ratcliff (First Team),
Hallie Ratcliff (Friendswood, Texas/Friendswood) (Second Team), Caron (Honorable Mention) and Weaver (Honorable Mention). E. Ratcliff (First Team) and H. Ratcliff (Second Team) each finished as 2026 CWPA Division III Championship All-Tournament Team selections.
