TRAFFORD, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College freshman Keira Ross (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) has been chosen as the Presidents' Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Newcomer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday (Sept. 28).
 
Ross went 4-0 in two dual matches for the Presidents last week. Ross started the weekend with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 5 position after winning a 6-3 set at No. 2 doubles with partner Maya Hamade (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) in W&J's 7-0 PAC win over Saint Vincent Friday. Saturday at Baldwin Wallace, Ross moved up a spot to No. 4 and secured another 6-0, 6-0 victory, which came after she teamed with partner Addison Jacobs (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) at No. 3 doubles for another 6-3 decision. That helped the Presidents claim a 6-1 win over the Yellow Jackets.
 
The Presidents return to the Janet Swanson Tennis Center for the first of three matches at home against the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets. Doubles matches will begin at 5:00 p.m.
