The Presidents finished with a 37-3 overall record and won its 13th PAC title during the 2021 season. The 37 wins were the third most in a single season in program history.

The Presidents recorded 38 victories, which ranks as the second most in a single-season in school history. The Red and Black won its 12th PAC title before claiming the Salisbury Regional and a Super Regional sweep of Misericordia University to advance to the World Series.

Prior to arriving at W&J, Rush served as a volunteer assistant coach at Bluffton University in Bluffton, Ohio. His knowledge was employed at all facets of the program, as he coached both the infielders and outfielders defensively, in addition to assisting with the team’s hitting drills. Rush also acquired valuable experience with recruiting while with the Beavers.

Rush’s collegiate experience is accompanied by stops at both Midwest Marlins Baseball and Ohio Elite Baseball. With Midwest Marlins Baseball, he served as the head coach and Director of Recruiting and Scouting for the 17U program. For Ohio Elite Baseball, Rush was the head coach for both the 14U and 15U teams.

Before becoming a coach, Rush was a three-year starter at Fairmont State University in Fairmont, W.Va. The multi-faceted player handled both pitching and designated hitter duties in 2014 and then held down first base in 2015 and 2016. He was a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Second Team Academic All-American at first base in 2016. Rush was the male recipient of the Eston K. Feaster Award at FSU, honoring the senior student-athlete with the highest grade-point average.

In addition to playing at Fairmont State, Rush also received a B.A. degree in Secondary Social Studies Education in 2015 and an M.A. degree in Special Education in 2018.
