Zak Worsley enters his first season as the Intern Assistant Coach for the Washington & Jefferson baseball team for the 2017-18 academic year.
Prior to arriving at W&J, Worsley worked as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the North Park University (Ill.) baseball team from 2015-17. Worsley's primary duties on the field were developing the hitters, outfielders and coaching third base. Worsley also served as the Junior Varsity Head Coach, assisted in the recruitment process both years as a GA and was responsible for social media content on the North Park Baseball Twitter and Instagram accounts.
During the summers of 2015 and 2017, Worsley gained head coaching experience from Top Tier Baseball, coaching one of Top Tier's 17U teams and serving as the main contact between players, parents, tournament directors and college coaches.
Worsley also worked for Chicago Bulls/White Sox Youth Academy where he was an instructor for White Sox Winter Elite Baseball Skills Sessions. There he assisted in the evaluation and selection of players for the White Sox Elite travel teams.
Since 2011, Worsley has offered one-on-one instruction to players to strengthen weaknesses and develop players' hitting abilities while also providing one-on-one training at the North Park Baseball Camp.
On the field, Worsley was a four-year starting outfielder at North Park from 2011-15 and was named a Division III Gold Glove-winning outfielder by the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings in 2015. The North Park Male Athlete of the Year (2014-15) was named to the All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Second Team in 2014 and 2015 and was a four-time CCIW Academic All-Conference honoree. The three-time team captain concluded his playing career as the program's all-time leader in games played, outfield putouts and sac bunts while he finished in the top ten in hits, at-bats, runs, stolen bases, walks and hit-by-pitch.
Worsley received his Master's of Business Administration from North Park in May 2017 with Graduate Certificates in Leadership and Organizational Development after graduating Cum Laude from North Park in May 2015 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business and Economics with a concentration in Sport Management.
