Katie Hastings

Katie Hastings enters her first year as the Field Hockey Intern Assistant Coach at W&J in the fall of 2016. 

Hastings previously worked as a fifth grade teacher and the assistant field hockey coach at John Carroll High School during the 2015-16 school year where she helped lead the team to its second consecutive championship title for the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland “B” Conference.

From November 2015-February 2016, Hastings worked as an assistant field hockey coach at H2O, a youth field hockey organization, where she provided 12-14 year olds with fundamental skills.

Hastings served as a coach at Futures Field Hockey from 2014-2016 where she was able to coach girls ages 12-18 through an Olympic training level program. While there, she received her U.S. Field Hockey Level I certification.

Hastings also worked as an assistant field hockey coach at her alma mater, Salisbury University, during the 2014-15 school year. 

Hastings received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in athletic coaching, in the spring of 2013 from Salisbury. While attending Salisbury, Hastings played on the field hockey team for four years, a two-year starter, and helped the team to four NCAA appearances, two Capital Athletic Conference titles, and a National Championship berth in 2013. Hastings was named senior captain in 2013 and was also selected to the Second Team All-Region, Senior All-Star Game, and was a First and Second Team All-Conference selection in 2012 and 2013.
