Meredith Spencer-Blaetz

Meredith Spencer-Blaetz concluded her second season as the assistant field hockey coach at Washington & Jefferson College following the 2013 fall season.

Through two years on the sidelines, Spencer-Blaetz worked with a team that posted 24 wins, including 13 during the most recent campaign. In her first year, she helped the team reach the Empire 8 Tournament for the seventh consecutive season.

Spencer-Blaetz was a standout four-year starting defender at Mount Holyoke College. She served as a team captain her senior year and collected 10 defensive saves that season, ranking her first all-time in the Lyons' single season record book. For her career, she compiled 15 defensive saves, which puts her second all-time. Spencer-Blaetz also finished her time at Mount Holyoke in the top 10 in games started and minutes played.

She was a four-time All-NEWMAC and NFHCA All-Academic Team performer.

She graduated cum laude from Mount Holyoke in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in sociology. Following graduation, Spencer-Blaetz spent a year as an intern with the American Association of University Women in Washington, D.C.
