Aaron Krepps 2023 Spring

Aaron Krepps

No stranger to Washington & Jefferson football, Aaron Krepps returned to his alma mater in January of 2023 as an Assistant Coach. The 2024 campaign marks his second on the staff.

Krepps aided the Presidents' offense in his first season on the staff. Krepps helped mentor quarterback Jake Pugh to earning PAC Offensive Player of the Year honors. The Presidents averaged 39.2 points per game en route to a 9-2 record and a victory in the ECAC James Lynah Bowl.

Krepps came to W&J after serving as an assistant coach at Ohio Northern University. He served as the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach during his time at ONU. That was his second stint with the Polar Bears, as he previously served with the program in 2015 and 2016.

Krepps held the head coaching position at Bluffton University from 2018-21. The Beavers posted a combined record of 13-25 during his tenure. Krepps was the offensive coordinator at Bluffton in 2017.

Prior to his stints at ONU and Bluffton, he was an assistant coach at Alderson Broaddus (W.Va.) in 2014.

Krepps also served as head coach at his prep alma mater, Belle Vernon (Pa.) High School from 2009-13 after holding collegiate assistant coaching positions at Eastern Michigan in 2007 and Adrian (Mich.) in 2006.

He was a four-year letterman as a receiver and kick returner at W&J. Aaron was a two-time All-American wide receiver, an honorable mention All-American kick returner, a three-time All-President's Athletic Conference honoree and was named the ECAC & PAC Player of the Year as a junior in 2004.

Krepps’ teams experienced tremendous success, claiming two conference championships and making three appearances in the NCAA playoffs.  The 2004 squad remains one of the most successful teams in school history after winning its first 12 games during a run to the national quarterfinals.  W&J defeated Bridgewater (55-48, OT) and Christopher Newport (24-14) in the first two rounds of the 2004 NCAA playoffs.  Krepps 1-yard touchdown run with no time remaining on the clock forced overtime in round one.  A week later, he had the go-ahead touchdown grab in the third quarter.

Krepps earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 2006 from W&J. He was selected to represent Team USA in the All-American Aztec Bowl in 2005 and helped the Americans defeat Mexico 53-15 in Toluca, Mexico. Coach Krepps signed with the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League in 2006 where he played in two preseason games.

Aaron and his wife, Lauren, reside in Belle Vernon with their two daughters, Harlow and Karson.
