Gabe Edwards enters his second season as an intern assistant coach for the Washington & Jefferson football program in the fall of 2017.

Edwards was a four-year member and two-year captain of the football team at fellow NCAA Division III member Oberlin (Ohio). Following his junior and senior seasons in 2014 and 2015, he earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference accolades as well as the Oberlin Defensive Player of the Year award. In those two seasons, he combined for 91 tackles (76 solo and 4.0 for loss), five interceptions, part of the seven passes he picked off and 25 passes defended as a Yeoman.

He entered the coaching ranks in the spring of 2016 as a part-time assistant at Oberlin. There, he worked on recruiting, film breakdown and instruction during the nontraditional portion of the season.

Edwards graduated from Oberlin in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
