Ian Hennessy

Ian Hennessy '13 joined the Washington & Jefferson football coaching staff in February of 2016.

Hennessy, a former all-Presidents' Athletic Conference linebacker at W&J, returns to his alma mater after serving as a football strength and conditioning intern at NCAA Division I University of Arizona. While in Tucson, he also worked with the Wildcats' men's tennis, women's golf and baseball teams.

A four-year letterwinner on the gridiron, Hennessy was a two-time all-PAC selection, including First Team nod as a senior in 2012 when he led the team in tackles with 99 (50 solo) and also recorded 11.0 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, an interception and nine pass break-ups in starting all 11 games. For his career, he tallied 183 tackles, 21 for loss, including 7.0 sacks and 15 pass breakups.

Hennessy received his Bachelor of Arts from W&J in Political Science and holds certifications from the National Association of Speed and USA Weightlifting, as well as being a certified personal trainer.
