Brandon Staley enters his fourth year on Ethan Stewart-Smith's coaching staff in 2022-23. He joined the men's basketball staff as a volunteer assistant just prior to the 2019-20 season.
At W&J, Staley assists the head coach with daily practice sessions and developing scouting reports. He helps coordinate recruiting efforts with potential student-athletes and oversees the development of the offseason strength & conditioning program.
Staley was influential in helping W&J claim the PAC regular season and tournament titles in the 2021-22 season. The Presidents tallied a program-record 24 wins and finished PAC play with a 16-2 record. The Presidents rattled off 12 consecutive road wins before falling to eventual national-runner up Elmhurst University in the 2022 NCAA Division III Tournament First Round. Both Kyran Mitchell and Nick Gearhart were named First Team All-PAC. Mitchell also earned All-Region honors from the NABC and D3hoops.com following the season.
Prior to joining W&J, Staley served as the varsity assistant coach and junior varsity head coach at Trinity Christian School in Morgantown, W.Va from Nov. 2016 through April 2019. He was the Middle School boys basketball coach at Trinity Christian from Nov. 2014 through May 2016. He also had experience with the AAU Morgantown Assault boys basketball program as director and head coach.
Staley earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from West Virginia University in May 2019. He currently serves as Senior Specialist, Quality Complaints at Mylan.
