Clyde Manns joined the men's basketball coaching staff at Washington & Jefferson prior to the 2015-16 season.
A veteran coach with over a decade of experience at both the scholastic and collegiate levels, Manns was an assistant coach at La Roche College for six seasons, including an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference title team in 2003-04, before being named the head men's basketball coach at Penn State-Greater Allegheny in April 2008.Â
As the head coach of the Lions for six seasons, he was responsible for all aspects of directing the program, from scheduling and recruiting to organizing game and practice plans and managing student-athlete study sessions. His teams qualified for the Penn State University Athletic Conference playoffs and two players were named All-America.
Most recently, Manns was an assistant coach at Elizabeth Forward High School where he helped with coaching and scouting and was in charge of defensive schemes.
Manns began his coaching career in 2001 as an assistant coach at Brashear High School in the Pittsburgh City League and also has experience coaching at the AAU level.
A former professional player in the American Basketball Association (ABA), United State Basketball League (USBL) and International Basketball League (IBL), he has also worked several camps in Western Pennsylvania at La Roche, Pitt, Duquesne and his alma mater Pitt-Greensburg.
Manns graduated from Pitt-Greensburg in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Administration of Justice.
