Cody Hartzler

Cody Hartzler coached his first year as the Washington & Jefferson assistant men's basketball coach in 2013-14.  He helped the Presidents win 13 games this winter. 

Hartzler joined the W&J coaching staff after a two-year stint as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Bluffton University in Ohio. During his time at Bluffton he served as the recruiting coordinator and head junior varsity coach. Additionally, Hartzler was in charge of creating daily practices and serving as the team’s academics administrator.

Prior to his appointment at Bluffton, Harztler spent two seasons as the assistant men’s coach at Pitt-Greensburg. While with the Bobcats, he aided in recruiting, practice implementation, individual skill development and opponent preparation. During his time at UPG, he also took on camp counselor duties in the summer months at basketball camps held at Saint Francis University.

A two-time team captain for the Kutztown University track and field team, Hartzler received Division II All-American honors (high jump) in 2008.

In 2009, Hartzler earned a bachelor’s degree from Kutztown in leisure and sports studies and a master’s degree in business administration from Bluffton in 2013 with a concentration in healthcare management.
