The 2018-19 academic year will mark Stefani Wendelschaefer’s first season as an intern assistant coach for the Washington & Jefferson men's and women's swimming and diving teams.
Wendelschaefer takes her post after spending the previous two years as a volunteer assistant swim coach at her alma mater, Grove City College, during the 2017-18 campaign. She aided head coach Dave Fritz with stroke instruction, creation of practice plans, and team organization. She was also introduced to the program’s recruitment techniques.
Prior to joining the collegiate ranks, Wendelschaefer worked at the Grove City YMCA from 2011-2018. In seven years at the YMCA, she spent time as an assistant swim coach, a sports performance coach, a health and wellness intern, and a head coach of a summer league team.
Wendelschaefer graduated from Grove City in May of 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Spanish. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Injury Prevention and Performance Enhancement from California University of Pennsylvania.  Â
