Shaylyn Gower

Washington & Jefferson track and field announced the addition of Shaylyn Gower as an assistant in the winter of 2022. Gower  primarily works with the sprint athletes. 

Gower joins the staff after graduating from Bethany College in 2020 where she was a four-year member on Bethany women's track and field team. 

Gower served as team captain for two seasons (2018-2020) at Bethany. Additionally, she was PAC Champion in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash events in the 2019 Outdoor Championships and first in the 60 meter and 200 meter dash events in the 2020 Indoor Championships. 

Throughout her four years, Gower was involved in the Phi Mu Sorority as the Philanthropy and Sisterhood Development Chairman and was Bethany's Track and Field representative for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). 

Gower graduated from Bethany College in the winter of 2020 with her bachelor's degree in Psychology and minor in Criminal Justice before attending Duquesne University Graduate School to attain her master's degree in Child Psychology in May of 2021. She is currently employed at the UPMC Western Psych working as a Milieu Therapist.
