Eric Widger joined the W&J softball program as its Intern Assistant Coach in August 2021.
Widger served as a student manager for NCAA Division I University of Delaware softball program for the past three seasons. The Blue Hens compiled a 25-9 record and advanced to the Colonial Athletic Association Championship before falling to College World Series qualifier James Madison in the final.
His duties included working to ensure all team and coaches needs were met daily. He organized, coordinated and planned gameday operations. Responsible for setup and assisted in execution of practices. Contacted other coaches for scouting reports, worked on team scouting reports and statistics, and assisted with day-to-day operations.
In addition, Widger has worked as an intern and coach for the Delaware Cobras travel softball team. This past summer he assisted an 18U and two 16U teams.
He earned his degree in Sport Management from the University of Delaware in May 2021.
