Ashley Mikelonis '16 joined the women's basketball program as a volunteer assistant before the start of the 2019-20 season. 

Mikelonis helped W&J to PAC regular season and PAC Tournament titles in 2021-22. The Presidents finished with a 23-5 overall mark and a 17-1 record in PAC play. The PAC tournament title was the first for W&J since 2006. The Presidents qualified for the 2022 NCAA Tournament, which was their first NCAA appearance since 2010. Junior forward Victoria Koeck earned PAC Defensive Player of the Year award. 

Mikelonis, no stranger to W&J basketball, was a four-year member of the team and appeared in 29 games during the 2015-16 season. She totaled 110 points and shot 42.4 percent from the field for a W&J team that compiled a 24-6 record, which tied for the program's most wins in a single season. The Presidents advanced to both the PAC Championship game and the ECAC Division III South title games during the 2015-16 campaign. 

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts from W&J in May 2016. She was a Dean's List recipient and a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference Honor Roll. 

After her  time at W&J concluded, Mikelonis went on to earn a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Arizona in December of 2017. She worked as a Graduate Research Assistant and Marketing & Communications Administrator during her time at U of A. 

From July of 2018 through March of 2019, she worked as a Coordinator of Marketing & Media Relations at nearby Wheeling (Jesuit) University, where she performed a wide range of tasks to promote the university.

Mikelonis currently works at Olympus Energy LLC in Canonsburg. In August of 2019, she joined the Washington & Jefferson College Young Alumni Committee as an Executive Board Member, Events Chair.
