Alana Polk joined the W&J volleyball program as its intern assistant coach for the 2020-21 season.
Polk was a four-year member and two-year captain during her collegiate career at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Md. The Hawks compete in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference at the Division I level.
A native of Houston, Texas, Polk was a presence in the middle of the net throughout her career, as she finished as the school's all-time leader in blocks with 327. Polk racked up 526 kills and compiled a .268 hitting percentage during her time as a Hawk.
She earned All-MEAC Second Team honors as a sophomore in 2015, when she finished with career highs in kills (187) and blocks (122).
Polk has recently served as an instructor/coach at The Volleyball School in Katy, Texas. She assisted girls of all skill levels and ages ranging from 5-to-16.
Polk earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Maryland Eastern Shore in May 2018.
