The Washington & Jefferson College athletic department announced the addition of Angelica Sabatini who will join the W&J Sports Medicine team as one of two Assistant Athletic Trainers on staff in 2025.

Prior to her return to W&J, Sabatini spent a year at Division II Frostburg State University as an assistant athletic trainer. There, Sabatini worked as the primary athletic trainer for men’s and women’s tennis, women’s wrestling and softball. She also served as a preceptor for master-level athletic training students.
Sabatini completed six years as an assistant athletic trainer at Washington & Jefferson College up to the 2023-24 academic year.
During the summer of 2019, Sabatini teamed with fellow assistant athletic trainer Mary Kathryn Schickel to develop and implement the ATS Athlete Portal. The ATS system is a web application for athletes or parents/guardians to enter, view and update information, download forms, request appointments and view rehabs and modalities.
Sabatini earning a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from the California University of Pennsylvania in May of 2018. As an undergrad, she acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Waynesburg University.

Sabatini is no stranger to the W&J campus, as she was the primary athletic trainer for Washington & Jefferson’s women’s volleyball team in the fall and the women’s lacrosse team in the spring during the 2017-18 season.

In addition to her work at W&J, Sabatini was a student assistant at Waynesburg. She aided in coverage of the Yellow Jackets’ men’s basketball, football, baseball, wrestling, men’s and women’s track and field, and men’s soccer teams.

Sabatini also has experience on the field as a collegiate athlete, as she played attack on the Waynesburg women’s lacrosse team during the 2015 and 2017 seasons.Â
