Dr. Michael Carr joins the Washington & Jefferson College women’s wrestling staff prior to its inaugural season in 2026-27.
Carr comes to W&J following a illustrious wrestling career at Division I Illinois, finishing with a 43-19 career record. He highlighted his time on the mats as a two-time NCAA Division I National Qualifier in the 141-pound weight class. Carr was also a Big Ten Championship finalist at 141, the only freshman to reach a title match in the Big Ten that season. Carr wrapped his collegiate career as a four-time Academic All-Big Ten member and an NWCA All-Academic selection as a freshman.
Carr graduated from the University of Illinois with his degree in Premed and Biochemistry, finishing his schooling at the West Virginia University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Carr currently is a Surgeon at Mercy Hospital.
Locally, Carr was a two-time Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association State (PIAA) Champion. He was additionally a three-time SW Regional Champion. The South Fayette native finished his high school career with an untarnished 89-0 record starting his junior season.
