Dr. Timothy Klitz, Washington & Jefferson College associate professor in the Department of Psychology, serves as the Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) for W&J. He is also the faculty mentor for the W&J women's soccer team.
Dr. Klitz earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in the Integrated Science Program and Psychology from Northwestern University in 1987 and a Ph.D. in Cognitive and Biological Psychology from the University of Minnesota in 2000.
He began his teaching career at W&J in 2001, and teaches courses in elementary psychology, cognitive psychology and sensation and perception. Dr. Klitz's research interests are centered around the topic of reading, a skill that encompasses skill in the areas of both visual and cognitive processing.
Dr. Klitz and his wife, Dr. Jane Caldwell, a Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of Wisconsin, have one daughter, Erin.
