W&J hall of famer Todd Pivnick ‘ 94 returns to his alma mater to aid in the coaching of the current day Presidents offensive line.
A four-year letter winner, Pivnick guided a powerful W&J offense which scored 30 or more points on 27 different occasions. He blocked for W&J Hall of Famer Chris Babirad, who gained a school-record 5,714 yards and scored 74 career touchdowns, ranking 21st in NCAA Division III history.
Pivnick came to W&J as part of one of the most talented recruiting classes in Presidents’ history. W&J claimed four PAC championships with Pivnick as offensive tackle and the Presidents compiled a 37-6 record. The 1992 team advanced to the Stagg Bowl after earning NCAA playoff victories over Lycoming (36-0), Emory & Henry (51-15) and Rowan (18-13). Following the 1992 season, W&J was awarded the ECAC Lambert Trophy.
W&J made four NCAA playoff appearances during Pivnick’s career. The 1992 Presidents established school records for rushing yards (3,519) and rushing yards per game (270.7 ypg) which still stand today. The top two single-season rushing totals in W&J history occurred with Pivnick leading the way. Babirad rushed for 2,471 total yards in 1992 and 1,713 yards the previous season.
