W&J Drops A Pair To Division I Teams At Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Sophomore Kevin Dunigan scored five goals, but Washington & Jefferson dropped matches to Bucknell (12-5) and George Washington (19-13) Saturday at the 2013 Southern Division Men's Water Polo Championships hosted by the Naval Academy. 

The Presidents (14-16) will now play Gannon Sunday (10:20 am) for seventh place in the 12-team tournament.  Freshman Nick Willison had two goals against the Bison early Saturday, while Dunigan and juniors Mike Magdic and Ben McGrath all added one. Junior Chris DeNunzio supplied eight saves in goal. Dunigan fired in four goals against the Colonials, while Magdic and Willison both produced three-goal efforts.

Junior Carl Krause notched a pair, while classmate Justin Brier scored once. Senior Dan Francisco split time with DeNunzio in the net. Francisco grabbed eight stops, while DeNunzio blocked six shots.
